Acceptable Use Policy

01Why we have this policy

LocalGenius hosts websites, sends messages and posts to social media for many businesses on shared systems. This policy keeps that safe for all of them. It forms part of our Terms of Service.

02Content you must not publish

• Anything illegal in Australia, or that promotes illegal activity.
• False or misleading claims about your business, prices, licences or results, including fake reviews or testimonials.
• Content that copies someone else's work, logo or brand without permission.
• Hate speech, harassment, threats, or sexually explicit material.
• Personal information about other people without their consent.

03Texts, emails and posts

• Only text or email people who have asked to hear from you or are your customers, as the Spam Act 2003 requires.
• Every marketing message must say who it is from and include a way to unsubscribe.
• Don't buy or upload contact lists of people who never dealt with you.
• Follow the rules of Facebook, Instagram and Google when posting through LocalGenius.

04Reviews

Ask real customers for honest reviews. Don't offer rewards for positive reviews only, write reviews yourself, or ask staff and friends to review you as customers.

05Our systems

• Don't try to get into accounts, data or systems that aren't yours.
• Don't upload viruses or harmful code, or use LocalGenius to attack other websites.
• Don't overload the service, scrape it, or get around plan limits.
• Don't resell LocalGenius without our written agreement.

06What we do if this policy is broken

We may remove the content, pause sending, suspend the website or account, or close it. Where we reasonably can, we will tell you first and give you a chance to fix it. We may report illegal activity to the authorities.

07Reporting a problem

If you see something on a LocalGenius website that breaks this policy, email support@localgenius.com.au with the web address and what is wrong.
