01Your domain is yours

Domains registered through LocalGenius are registered in your name, or your business's name, as the registrant. We register them through an accredited domain registrar. You can move your domain to another provider at any time.

02.au domains

.au domains, such as .com.au and .au, are run by auDA, the .au Domain Administration. To hold one you must meet auDA's Australian presence rules, for example having an ABN or ACN or being an Australian citizen or resident. The details you give must be true and kept up to date.

By registering a .au domain you agree to the .au Domain Administration Rules and the registrar's .au registrant agreement. auDA can cancel a domain whose details are wrong.

03Other domains

Domains such as .com, .net and .co follow ICANN's rules and the registrar's registration agreement. You must give true contact details, and the registrar may email you to confirm them.

04Free first year and renewals

Where your plan includes a free domain, the first year is free. After that it renews each year at the price shown in LocalGenius, charged to your plan. We remind you before it renews. If you turn renewal off and the domain expires, it can be lost and registered by someone else.

05SSL

Websites on LocalGenius get a free SSL certificate, so your site loads over https.

06Moving your domain

To move a domain away from us, ask for the transfer code in Domains in LocalGenius or email support@localgenius.com.au. Some domains can't move in the first 60 days after registration or a change of owner, under registry rules.

07Disputes

Disputes about who should hold a domain are decided under the auDA dispute policy for .au domains, or the UDRP for other domains, not by LocalGenius.
