One customer, three jobs

It started with a door that sticks. It turned into three jobs.

Sam runs a two-person carpentry business in Newcastle. This is Kate in Merewether, from a sticking back door in November to new deck stairs after Christmas.

1Sliding door repair

A small job finds you, because you have a page for it.

Kate's back sliding door has dragged since all the rain. She searches “door repairs Merewether” over breakfast and lands on Ridgeline's door repairs page. Two taps, two photos, and it's on Sam's phone before her coffee's finished.

2Built-in wardrobe

“While you're here, could you do the spare room wardrobe?”

The door takes Sam forty minutes. Then Kate shows him the spare room. He measures up, and before he's left the driveway the wardrobe quote is on its way, with her door job already sitting above it.

2Wardrobe finished

The finished wardrobe goes straight into your gallery.

Sam takes three photos before he packs up and says “add these to the gallery”. Genius puts them under Built-ins and wardrobes, on the Merewether page, and writes a post. Sam checks it and taps Publish.

3Deck stairs

Five stars on Google. Then the deck stairs.

The review request went out by text the day after the wardrobe. Kate leaves five stars. In January she messages again: the back deck stairs have gone wobbly. It lands in the same thread, with both her past jobs right there.

Rang about a sticking sliding door. Sam fixed it in under an hour, then built the wardrobe in our spare room. Beautiful work, and he left the place cleaner than he found it.

Questions

Things carpenters ask us.

Something else? Email support@localgenius.com.au and a real person will answer.

I do a bit of everything. Won't the website look all over the place?

No. Each kind of job gets its own page, from door repairs to decks, and the home page ties them together. Someone looking for a wardrobe sees wardrobes. Someone with a wobbly step sees repairs.

How do my finished jobs get into the gallery?

Add the photos and say what the job was. They go under the right kind of job and the right suburb, and Genius can write a post from them for you to approve.

Is it worth having pages for small jobs?

Small jobs are how a lot of customers meet you. A door repairs page or a repairs page gets you through the door, and the bigger jobs often follow.

Will my prices show on the website?

Only if you want them to. Your quotes use your own items and prices, and your website can say as much or as little about price as you like.

I already use ServiceM8 or Tradify. Does it work with that?

ServiceM8 connects in one click. Tradify, Fergus, Jobber and others link up through Zapier or with help from our team.

Tomorrow, someone's door will stick. Be the carpenter they find.

Tell us what you build and where. Your carpentry website is ready to look at in minutes.
