One new white belt, one week in November

8:47pm Tuesday. On the mat by Thursday.

Kate runs Bayside Martial Arts in Wynnum: kids karate, teens, adults and a BJJ program. Mel has just put Leo, 6, to bed. He's shy, and she wants something that builds his confidence. This is how a late-night search becomes a new student while Kate is teaching.

Bayside Martial Arts, Kate, Mel and Leo are made up to show how it works
8:47pmTuesday

"Kids karate near me", and your kids page is the answer.

Mel searches from the couch. Bayside has a Kids Karate page with every age group, the class times and a free trial class, so she doesn't have to ring or guess. Little Dragons, ages 4 to 6, Thursdays at 4:30. That's Leo.

One reply before school, and Leo's booked for Thursday.

Mel asks in the website chat whether six is too young for a shy kid. It lands in the LocalGenius inbox with every Instagram, Facebook and email message. Kate taps her saved free trial reply, which carries the booking link, and Mel books Thursday's 4:30 class herself, in your own club software.

Mel T. · Website chat · 8:52pm TueHi! Is 6 too young for karate? My son Leo is quite shy and I'm hoping it helps his confidence. Could he try a class first?
Kate · 7:10am WedHi Mel, 6 is perfect, and lots of our Little Dragons start out shy. His first class is free. Pick a time below and he's in. Thursday 4:30 is a lovely group. Comfy clothes are fine, no uniform needed. Kate

Grading day photos become this week's post.

Leo loved Thursday. On Saturday he comes back to watch the end-of-year grading. Kate takes a group photo of the new yellow belts, the parents say yes, and Genius writes the post. Kate reads it, taps Approve, and it goes to Facebook, Instagram and your Google profile. Mel sees it before they're home.

Two classes in, Mel leaves five stars.

After Leo's second class, Mel signs him up in your club software. LocalGenius sends her a friendly text asking for a Google review, and she writes one in the car park. The next parent searching "kids karate near me" sees it, with your class times and the free trial.

Hi Mel, thanks for bringing Leo along this week. He did so well! If you've got a minute, a Google review helps other families find us: g.page/baysidemartialarts Kate, Bayside Martial Arts

Leo hid behind my legs for the first five minutes. By the end he was bowing to Sensei Kate with the biggest grin. Booking the free class took me one tap.

That was one white belt. LocalGenius does it for every family.

    Questions

    What club owners ask us.

    $29.99 a month to start

Four plans, from a simple website to fully managed. Free domain for the first year.

    See all plans →
Does LocalGenius take trial bookings or payments?

No. Your Book buttons and saved replies open the club software you already use, like Clubworx, Zen Planner or Mindbody. Trial bookings, waivers, memberships and payments all stay there. LocalGenius brings families to them.

Can we post grading photos of the kids?

Only the photos you add, and only once you approve the post. Most clubs check with parents first. Genius writes the caption without kids' names, and you can change anything before it goes to Facebook, Instagram and Google.

We teach karate, BJJ and kickboxing. Is that one website?

Yes. One website with its own page for each style and each age group, plus your timetable, free trial class and a page for each suburb your families come from.

    Where do trial enquiries go?

Into one inbox, with your website chat, forms, email, Facebook and Instagram messages, each marked with where it came from. Reply from the office or your phone, with saved replies that carry your booking link.

Term's nearly here. Be the club parents find.

Get your club website up, then let LocalGenius look after the pages, the messages, the grading-day posts and the reviews.
