One storm, one roof, start to finish

Leak at 9:30pm. On the roof by 7.

Jase runs a two-man roofing crew on Brisbane's southside. This is one storm night, one leaking hallway in Carindale, and everything after it.

Gullwing Roofing, Jase and Kirsty are made up to show how it works
9:30pmTuesday, mid-storm

Water through the ceiling. She sends a photo. She gets an answer.

Kirsty finds Gullwing's roof leak page with a bucket in the hallway. She opens the chat and sends a photo of the ceiling. Genius answers straight away, in Jase's words: we'll check it first thing. Jase sees it all on his phone and doesn't have to type a thing.

  • Chat and forms that take a photo of the leak
  • A reply in minutes, even when you're off the tools

Hi, water's coming through our hallway ceiling. Storm's still going. Can someone come and look?
Gullwing RoofingSo sorry Kirsty, not what you need on a night like this. Pop a bucket and a towel under it for now. We'll check it first thing in the morning, around 7. Does that suit?
Yes please. Thank you!!

“We'll check it first thing in the morning, around 7.” Kirsty said yes.

Wednesday, 6:40am. The rain has stopped.

Up the ladder, four photos, and the quote's sent before he's down.

Lifted sheets and popped screws along the valley. Jase takes photos on the roof and they drop straight into Kirsty's enquiry. He adds the repair from his own list, GST is worked out, and the quote goes to Kirsty with the photos in it, so she can see exactly what he saw.

Fixed on Saturday. The before and after become this week's post.

Kirsty said yes on Wednesday. Jase and his offsider re-fix the sheets and swap the flashing in an afternoon. Genius writes a post from his before and after photos for Facebook, Instagram and Google. It never names the customer, and nothing goes out until Jase taps approve.

gullwingroofing Tuesday's storm found a few popped screws and a lifted sheet on this Carindale roof… Just now
8:55amSunday

Another storm Saturday night. A dry hallway. Five stars.

The day after the repair, LocalGenius texts Kirsty a review request with a link straight to Google. The rain came back overnight and her hallway stayed dry, so she has plenty to say. The next person in Carindale with a drip in the ceiling reads it.

Messaged them at 9:30 at night with water coming through the ceiling and got a reply straight away. Jase was on our roof at 7 the next morning, sent photos of what he found, and had it fixed by Saturday. Bone dry through last night's storm.
Reply from the ownerThanks Kirsty! Glad the hallway stayed dry. Jase

Hi Kirsty, thanks for having us out yesterday. If the hallway's staying dry, would you mind leaving us a quick review? It really helps other locals find us.

Questions

Things roofers ask us.

Something else? Email support@localgenius.com.au and a real person will answer.

What happens to enquiries that come in at night?

They land in your inbox and on your phone. Genius can send a friendly first reply straight away, in your words, saying when you'll be in touch, so nobody's left wondering while you sleep. You decide what it's allowed to say.

Can customers send a photo of the leak?

Yes. Your chat and quote forms can take photos, so you see the ceiling, the gutter or the roof before you go. It all comes in with the enquiry.

I do restorations, re-roofs and gutters too. Is that covered?

Yes. You get a page for each kind of job, from leak repairs and storm damage to restorations, re-roofing, Colorbond, tiles and gutters, plus a page for each suburb you work in.

Will my prices show on the website?

Only if you want them to. Your quotes use your own items and prices, and your website can say as much or as little about price as you like.

I already use ServiceM8 or Tradify. Does it work with that?

ServiceM8 connects in one click. Tradify, Fergus, AroFlo and others link up through Zapier or with help from our team.

Next storm, someone's ceiling starts dripping. Be the roofer who answers.

Tell us what you do and where. Your roofing website is ready to look at in minutes.
