One piece, start to healed

Follow one banksia at Nightjar Tattoo Co.

Mira tattoos at a three-artist studio in Newtown, Sydney. Nearly every new client starts the same way: a late-night DM, a few saved pictures and “would you do this?”. Here's one piece, from that message to the healed review.

Nightjar, Mira and Ellie are made up to show how it works
9:47pmTuesday

A DM with three saved pictures. Answered with a consult link.

Ellie has wanted a banksia for two years. She sends Nightjar three reference pictures on Instagram. It lands in one inbox with your Facebook messages, website chat and emails, each marked with where it came from. Mira replies from the couch with her artist page and the consult link.

  • Instagram, Facebook, website chat, forms and email in one inbox

Her artist page does the convincing.

Before she books, Ellie looks at Mira's page: the styles she loves, the size she works in, and twenty healed and fresh pieces. Every artist at Nightjar has a page like it, so the right people find the right artist, and nobody asks Kenji for fine line.

  • A page for every artist, with their portfolio and styles
  • Books open or closed, shown on their page
  • Every Book button goes to your own booking tool

Theo's flash sheet becomes Saturday's post.

Flash day this Saturday 🖤 Theo's drawn a fresh sheet: hearts, moths, roses and a koi or two. Walk-ins from 11am, first in first served. Once a design's gone, it's gone. #newtowntattoo #flashday #sydneytattoo

3:40pmSession day

Aftercare page today. Five stars once it's healed.

After the session, Mira texts Ellie the studio's aftercare page, written in Nightjar's own words, so there's no lost printout. Two weeks later a review request goes by text. Ellie sends five stars, and the next person searching “fine line tattoo Newtown” reads it.

Messaged on a Tuesday night, consult that Saturday. Mira drew exactly what was in my head and the aftercare page answered every question I had. Healed perfectly.

Questions

Things tattoo studios ask us.

Something else? Email support@localgenius.com.au and a real person will get back to you.

We take consults and deposits in our own booking tool. Does that still work?

Yes. Keep the tool you already use. Every Book a consult button goes straight to it, and you can send the same link back when someone messages. LocalGenius doesn't take bookings, deposits or payments itself.

Can each artist have their own page?

Yes. Each artist gets a page with their styles, their portfolio and whether their books are open, plus their own Book button. Add new work as you go.

Nearly all our enquiries come through Instagram DMs. Does that work?

Yes. Instagram and Facebook messages land in the same inbox as your website chat, forms and email, each marked with where it came from, so you can answer them all from one place between sessions.

Do posts go out without us seeing them?

Never. Add your flash sheets and fresh work and Genius writes the words, then the post waits for your OK before it goes to Facebook, Instagram and Google.

Do we have to write the aftercare page?

Genius writes a first draft for you. Then you change it to match exactly how your studio does aftercare, and it lives on your website as one link you can send after every session.

Someone's had your work saved for a year. Make it easy to book.

Get your studio's website up, then let LocalGenius look after the DMs, the posts and the reviews around every piece.
